Effective Altruism

I have had a hard time getting invested in an idea for this project. However, I feel really happy about my book concept now. I have decided to create a small book that introduces the concept of effective altruism. Effective altruism is a theory of giving which focuses on impact in terms of the cost of the intervention. I hope to introduce the concept and to subtly convince my reader that they should think about cost-effectiveness when making charitable donations.

I started the project by doing very simple wireframing. I want to get a sense of what I want my page layouts to look like before I actually start building out my book. This is an effective strategy as it allows me to be very iterative in the process as my prototypes will build in sophistication as I move through the process.

my current form has me introducing two different charitable programs and then explaining the cost effectiveness associated with each of the charities. I like this idea for now, but I realize I need to add more complexity to my book if I want to have a compelling argument. In prototype 2 I will refine my language and will start to add images and color to my book.
