little blue books, bound up with string (these are a few of my favorite things)

My overall goal for this project was to have fun, and also translate my synesthesia onto pages so that everyone else can see what I see whenever I read. My first goal was to essentially lay the foundation for where I would place my words, and I feel as if I accomplished that! I used colored paper and cut out images to create an abstract and (hopefully) artistic aesthetic to my prototype. The poem I’m thinking of transcribing is about the ocean, so I stuck to a blue green color scheme, with orange and yellow accents.

I’m terrible at cutting things out because I’m left handed and scissors are a struggle, and I also wasn’t able to figure out exactly how to lay the words I’ll be copying down into the book– but I’ll play around more with that for the final product.

What I’m learning from this project so far is how to work within my own limits. It’s really easy for me to get carried away and stress myself out, but this has been fun so far. 🙂
