Madeline’s First Prototype

Goals: My goals for this prototype were to work on the general idea of the text and images and the layout for them.

Fulfilling these goals: I successfully made a layout (that failed but a success in learning).

What I wasn’t able to do: I made quite a few mistakes and therefore was not able to create a layout that will be the final version. I also was unable to successfully get a cut out incorporated into this prototype. But I figured out an idea for how I can incorporate the spider and cut out in one. After discussing the likes and dislikes of my mother and I, I can mention how we are both terrified of spiders and then make a spider into a pop out. I also forgot to include the exclamation mark, but there are multiple sentences I can put this in for the next draft.

What I learned: Some things I realized were that my first prototype booklet (made as an example in class with Britt) is far too many pages.* I also only used black and white images for now because for the final version I am using a floral patterned paper and only have a limited amount. Therefore, this prototype is truly a draft in that the paper is different from what I will end up using, so I did not want to be wasteful by printing colored images I know I will not use. I also learned that I need to include more images and text and where I can put it. Also, because the images are not in color, I do not have the color blue yet.
