Hello, darlings. My name is Mina Loy. I’m an artist, poet, playwright, fiction writer, inventor, and entrepreneur who associated with Futurism, Cubism, Dada, and Surrealism between 1903-1950.
After growing up in a prudish Victorian household in London, I was sent off to art school in Germany. I studied art in Paris, married too young, and found myself in Italy, where I encountered Futurism.
What I want to tell you is this:
TODAY is the crisis in consciousness.
CONSCIOUSNESS cannot spontaneously accept or reject new forms, as offered by creative genius; it is the new form, for however great a period of time it may remain a mere irritant—that molds consciousness to the necessary amplitude for holding it.
CONSCIOUSNESS has no climax.
