Make Your Own Meme:

Working definition: A meme is a word/image composition in a single frame or panel that can be replicated with infinite variables within certain (flexible) rules and parameters. It must be instantly recognizable and can be disseminated electronically.

Working in groups of 4, design your own meme, using whatever tools and technologies you choose. Think about what community you are trying to form, intervene in, or meet the needs of with your meme. Create a post on the course website (category = meme).

• Upload at least one example of your meme.
• Identify the community you think it will appeal to or form.
• Explain the linguistic “rules” that make it recognizable and distinctive.
• Bonus points for explaining the visual/pictorial “rules” that make your meme recognizable.
